Summary Exercise, feedback of prototype

Today we presented our first prototype to the rest of the exercise group. We got a lot of good feedback which we will take with us when developing our product/concept even more. The thoughts from the group sounded like this:

“Do you really want a computer to tell you what to do?”
“Can it get confusing and somewhat uncomfortable not knowing what’s happening?”
“Do you need any signs to make people understand what’s happening?”
“It doesn’t feel so nice pointing out that someone is doing wrong”
“It’s nice  that you trying to change peoples behaviour with small means. Maybe people are most perceptive of something changing. Have you thought about using a blinking light instead?”
“Maybe blinking light gets kind of exhausting”
“Maybe you can clearify that it’s not only people by the door that need to change behaviour. Can people further in also get a hint?”

The most interesting feedback that we got and hadn’t thought about beforehand was:
“Can you use graphics on the floor instead of only lights to make people more aware of the purpose of the design?”

Our next step now is to do a lot more research. Until next time we will look further into:
  • influence of color
  • symbols as communication
  • how well people can understand something without explanations
  • interactive floors
  • crowded subways
  • behaviour design

Next time we are meeting we are going to discuss our final design so that we can create a hi-fi prototype.  When designing our final prototype we will perform a walkthrough to explain all features it contains.

Hold out just a little bit longer. The final prototype is coming out next week!
